Our Company name “Air-Parts” – spare parts for in the air – refers to the history of the company. Back in 1955 Air-Parts was founded as trading company for spare parts in the military and civil aerospace industry. In the early sixties the product portfolio was expanded with electronical components and test and measuring equipment. This expansion made Air-Parts an interesting supplier for other customers like laboratories, R&D departments, production facilities, technical schools and universities. Ever since the foundation of the company the focus has been high quality and service, among that also a calibration department for test and measuring equipment.
In the year 2006 Air-Parts became a subsidiary of Have-Beheer and as such we also became a sister company of Havé-Digitap. With this change the product portfolio became larger and it also gave us the possibility to offer portable test and measuring instruments.
The Air-Parts team
The strength of a company is often determined by several factors. The location and the housing of the company is one of these factors. But without a strong product portfolio a trading company has little to offer. That is why Air-Parts is constantly looking for cooperation with suppliers and producers that can help to offer the best possible solution, even if they need to build it on customer specification. But the main factor for the success of our company is of course our team:
Harm van der Veen
The director and owner of our company is Harm van der Veen. He wants to offer an inspiring environment for a motivated and service minded team. Alongside his directorship he has several other positions in socially involved organisations. As a member of the board Harm is active at the association of Entrepreneurs in Sliedrecht, the Lawn Tennis Club and his local church. Harm is married and together they have three children. Some of his favourite hobbies are tennis, bridge and swimming, as he is also an active team member for the Amsterdam City Swim.
Harm’s business motto is: ‘Do more than the customer expects’
A sound advise and a good explanation is very important for our customers. This way we give our customer what he needs and often that is the beginning of a long term business relationship.
Robert van der Meer
Robert joined our team in 2001 as Service Engineer. Besides taking care of all necessary repairs or upgrades of high-end equipment he also is responsible for all traceable calibration of test and measuring equipment. After Robert finished his electrotechnical school in Amsterdam he joined the Dutch army for his obligatory military service and was trained to become emitter engineer. After the military service Robert started in 1983 to work at Philips Telecommunication in Huizen as an engineer for testing analogue and digital transmission systems. Robert was also responsible for creating a worldwide remote access system for testing and managing telecommunications. His electronical and connectivity knowledge are very useful at Air-Parts. In his spare time Robert likes to spent his time with his wife and their three children. He plays volleyball and the piano, likes to go cycling, sing in a choir and assist his parents.
